“Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law” –Aleister Crowley
The principle by Aleister Crowley emphasizes personal freedom and the pursuit of one’s true path, while being guided by love and finding one’s authentic purpose.
You need to know what you want. That seems deceptively simple, but ironically, it’s the hardest part. I’m not talking about wishing or hoping. “Oh, it would be nice to have this, that, or the other. I want to be such and such.”
No, you need to uncover your true path and authentic purpose. That, my friend, is insanely hard.
This is why most people are lost. Maybe lost forever if they don’t dive deep into themselves.
If you feel lost, it’s because you lack clarity of thought. And philosophy can help you learn to think more clearly. The true value of any philosophy is in the outcomes it leads to.
I’m 31, and in recent years, I’ve been able to crack the code in this area of my life little by little.
You need to be able to decide what you want. This is where you need self-awareness.
Let’s go slow here. Now, we are at the crux of the matter.
Most people never do the kind of self-reflection that’s vital for what I’m talking about. Our life mission is embedded in our DNA, and that’s why we don’t arbitrarily pick our destiny.
What you ultimately want to be is who you truly are. When you know who you are deep down, then you know what you’re uniquely suited for.
Our character is, for the most part, unchanging. We need to play the hand we were dealt.
We are the torchbearers of previous generations. What are your parents’ most significant shortcomings?
What’s the essential information you can glean from your personal history?
You liked an activity that made you proficient in it. You were innately curious about something and spent excessive time on it. Those are important clues.
You extract the meaning from your past. Then, you project all that into the future.
You are uncovering your authentic self; consequently, you are starting to find your True Will.
Your life is increasingly aligned with your true nature. Trials and tribulations are necessary to this mysterious, ever-unfolding journey- precisely as they should be.
The calling goes far beyond ordinary desires. You are not becoming who you want to be. You were that all along. The process is an ongoing unveiling of your Higher Self.
