When I started my entrepreneurial journey, I only had an ultimate vision about what I want to do in life. Turns out, that ‘creative production’ isn’t particularly lucrative as a career choice.
To be even more specific, it’s not enough for me to be a creative in a general sense.
I’m an artist. That’s categorically different from, let’s say, someone like a technician in music industry or a graphic designer in marketing.
When evaluated from the perspective of work output, art exists almost in a celestial sphere to me. Song produced by me in a commercial isn’t quite it.
As I am this uncompromising, I’ve had to find myself alternative streams of income.
Doing something totally different from art is wonderful in more ways than one. I’m able to support myself but also my investments into creative production are tax deductible.
I’m not yet there as an artist where my art is valuable to the marketplace in a monetary sense. However, to the extent I get to do what I’m passionate about, I’m winning.
